Fields 'Open' and 'Closed' Information
The NYSL fields 'open' and 'closed' decision is made by the executive board, and the decision takes into account first and foremost the safety of the players, as well as the potential for lasting damage to the fields. While our fields are very nice, they are not professionally architected for drainage. There is the potential for the fields to be closed on very nice days after several days of rain. This web site (at the top of each page) and the Weather Hot Line (317-595-1858) are updated simultaneously when the decision is made, so there is no need to check both.
The decision is made at 7:30am on weekends, and 4:30pm on weekdays. Lightning or other dangerous weather conditions may cause the fields to close after that point. In this case, the Hot Line and the web site will be updated asap, the red light at the top of the concession stand will go on, and a horn will be blown at the fields.
Safety is our first concern.
