NYSL depends on you!
NYSL is an all-volunteer organization. We rely heavily on our parents for our success. Whether you decide to serve as a Team Manager or Coach, or choose to help in the Concession Stand, or on Field Day, NYSL will not function without your help. It is the effort and commitment of our parents, more than anything else that makes NYSL great!
Please take a few minutes to review the items in the menu to the left. Of special interest are the parent guidelines and the zero tolerance policy on abuse of referees.
Coaches Wanted - No Experience Necessary!
We need you!
Coaching soccer is a great way to get involved with your kids. Best of all, no experience is necessary. As a matter of fact, with the U5, U6 kids, some of our best coaches are those that know little to nothing about soccer. If you've never coached or played soccer, you might have an advantage over people that have. Experienced players have a vision in their mind of how the game is to be played. Many of them can have problems bringing it down to the level of a 4 or 5 year old. On the other hand, a parent who understands children will usually be a very successful coach, because they have no expectations of what these kids can do in relation to soccer. They go out, play a few games, kick the ball around, joke with the kids, and just have a good time.
You Can Do It!
NYSL appreciates our coaches, and we will do everything we can to assist you and make it a positive experience. We can help you through your first practice and answer any questions you might have as the season go on.
